Yes, I'm Paying Attention

I nod my head, and say some words

To show you that I care

But to be honest, I do not hear a word

My head is just not there

"Oh yes", "Uh huh", "I agree"

A few of the words I say

"Oh my", "Oh sure", "You are right"

But attention I do not pay

So, though my eyes meet your own

You do not see my brain

It has already, bought its ticket

And is on the next plane
