I appreciate the gesture
I knew you were well intentioned
The colors are nice
And it really brings attention
But a tattoos like a wedding ring
It only means something to you
You can show it off for compliments
But what matters is what you do
What matters is how we spend our days
And how we cuddle late at night
What matters is when you pick me up
How we push through the hardest fights
I hope that tattoo means something to you
And I appreciate the art
But having my name on your chest
Means nothing if it isn’t in your heart
