Live Through My Poems

“So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.”

- Shakespeare

Live Through My Poems

I hope they remember you when they read this
I hope they know how much you meant to me
You’ll forever live on, though our bodies be gone
They’ll know the power of your beauty

I hope they experience our late night affairs
If only they were in my shoes
They didn’t feel your lips, or held your hands
They’ll never understand to what I allude

They never understood you like I have
They haven’t seen you naked,
Not only physically, but emotionally too
I know the thoughts you left unspoken

I know our bodies are ephemeral
But are thoughts are far from transient
Your souls in my poems, I know you’ll live on
But can you take the time now to read this
