Christmas in Court

Christmas in Court (Originally Untitled)

Christmas cannot come soon enough
Somehow I'm not in the spirit
All I hear are his ankles ring
The bells I do not hear it
I do not smell the warm Christmas food
It must be the courtroom air
I do not feel the “familyness”
Maybe I just do not care
I haven't felt the Christmas feel
I haven't taken in the lights
I think I take in the noise, the swears
The drama and all the fights
But every Christmas has a chance
To turn around and be great
To shine away the unhappiness
The sorrow and all the hate
I believe it can all change
We'll grow as we go through it
Maybe that's simply my optimism
Maybe that's my Christmas spirit
